Director’s Address

The Lord gave us a great end to our summer. During the month of August we had four 5-Day Clubs. In these clubs, we had a total of 40 children enrolled, with two coming to know Christ as Savior. We ended the summer with 13 clubs. Even though we did not reach our goal of 18, we did have more children enrolled this summer than last. In our club ministry, we had a total of 277 children enrolled, with 12 trusting in Christ as Savior. PRAISE THE LORD!!

Also, during the month, we had two county fairs. Our first county fair was the West Michigan fair in Ludington. At this fair, we have a space in the commercial building. The weather was beautiful, and on one of the days we had over 100 children come to hear the Gospel. This was the first time since I’ve been the director that we have broken 100 in one day at this fair. Our total for the week was 294 people that heard the Gospel, with seven coming to know Christ as Savior. Next year, we are hoping that we will be able to bring the Ark to this fair.  Later in the month, we were at the Oceana County fair. This was our last big event of the summer. At this fair, we were able to have the Ark, and, as always, it was a big attraction. We did face painting and had games for the children.  Our total for the week was 260 people that heard the Gospel with six coming to know Christ as Savior.  Our total for both fairs was 554 contacts with 13 coming to know Christ.

Now, we are in a new ministry year of 2018/2019. We will start the year off with the New Era Street Festival, and then later we will be starting our Good News Club® ministries. Pray that all our clubs have a great start, and that we will be able to have the teachers and helpers needed for these clubs.

As of the end of  August

The school year has started and that means that Good News Clubs will be starting. Most of the clubs will start at the end of September or beginning of October, and many of them will go through the end of March. We are hoping to have 12 clubs in the Shoreline Chapter. Some of the clubs are in need of teachers and helpers in order to start. If you feel the Lord is calling you to be a helper or teacher, please contact us.

Walkerville and Thomas Read need teaching teams. Some of the other clubs need helpers.  Will you pray about helping us reach the children?

We are offering another Teaching Children Effectively™ Level I course this fall. We plan to meet on four Thursday nights and four Saturdays. All sessions are required to be able to complete the course. This course will start October 11 at the Ladder in Shelby. The other attachment is the registration form for this course that tells you all the dates, times and cost of the course. We would like at least five people to take this course. If you have any questions at all, please contact Wendy Southwell at our office number
