Clubs—8
Enrollment—125
Salvations—8
As of the end of October
Good News Clubs are in full swing! We currently have eight clubs with one more beginning in January. Our hope is to start more in East Mason, Grant, and Baldwin as the semester continues. So far God has led over 120 children to these clubs! We have already had the same amount of children attend Good News Club® in the last two months that we did all of last semester. In October alone we had 112 new children come. God has drawn eight of those children to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior during those clubs! I thank God for these children and for the many others who have learned about Him this year!
On October 21 we had our newest GNC™ at Newaygo Elementary School. This is the first club we have ever had at this school! The initial week we had 17 kids show up and have since had 6 more enroll! I am so excited to be able to reach a new group of children. Please pray that we will be able to show them how valuable they are to God, the heavenly Father.
Every year we try to do something fun for the kids by getting Good News Club t-shirts that they can wear to club. Each shirt is $9 and we would like to get them for all of our clubs. In total we are trying to raise $2,000. They have loved them in the past and we want this year’s group of kids to have that same fun.

Christian School Chapel
On October 9, we had another opportunity to go to Cornerstone Christian Academy to speak in their chapel. This time, Wendy had the opportunity to speak to the students. There were 42 students listening to the lesson. One of the teachers went up to Wendy after it was over and thanked her for challenging the students in their Christian growth. In November, we will have two opportunities to go back to Cornerstone Christian Academy. One of these times, Lizzie Kate will be speaking to the students. Pray that both meetings go well and students are ready to hear what the Lord has to say to them.
Fall Banquet
On October 8, we held our fall banquet at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ludington. This was the second of two banquets that we had this year. At this particular banquet, we were focusing on the ministries going on in Oceana and Mason counties. We did let people know what the Lord has been doing overall in the chapter as well. We had a great meal prepared for us by Steve Meek and his family. Unfortunately, not as many people came as we were hoping because a lot of people were sick. We did have 40 people that came to this banquet and we are very thankful for them. Those that came told me how much they enjoyed the banquet. We would like to thank all of them and those individuals and businesses that gave to the ministry.
Lizzie-Kate Update
It’s official! I have applied to go to Children’s Ministries Institute® (CMI®) in January of 2025. CMI does an on campus three month course twice a year at CEF® Headquarters in Missouri. It is somewhat disconcerting to think about moving to Missouri, away from my support system of family, friends, and church for three months. But it is exciting too. I know God has led me to this ministry and this is the next step. I pray that CMI will help me better know how to do well with what He has given me. God has shown me through the years that He often does great things when I’m out of my comfort zone.
For the next few months I will be preparing for CMI in addition to my current responsibilities as ministry coordinator. I am currently working 15 hours a week. However, my local board is hoping to have me doing 20 hours a week by January of next year. I am looking for prayer warriors and financial partners to help me achieve this goal.
Children’s Ministries Institute: Please make checks payable to CEF with CMI or training on the memo line. If you pay with PayPal also put CMI or training on the memo. If you would like to pay through Zeffy, please use this QR code.

International Conference
In May of 2025, co-workers from all over the world will be gathering together at Ridgecrest Conference Center for the CEF International Conference. This is always an exciting time to see co-workers and hear how the ministry is going in all parts of the world. One of my favorite parts of the ministry is where the regional directors share how the Lord is working in the lives of children and adults in their regions. CEF also gets some great speakers to challenge our staff and encourage us in the ministry. There will also be some workshops for the staff to go to that specialize in certain areas of the ministry. We would love to send all our staff and maybe even some committee members to this event. It will cost approximately $1,000 to $1,500 per person to go to Conference. This will cover the conference fee, room and board, and travel expenses. If you would like to help us send our staff to Conference, please send a check to the CEF office, marked “conference” on the memo line or scan the QR code here to send through Zeffy. Pray and ask God how you can help us go to this great event. Also, the Southwells will be honored at Conference for 30 years of service with Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Volunteers needed
Are you wondering how you could get involved in a ministry that is close to home but you don’t know where to turn? Shoreline CEF is looking for those people who want to serve in ministry, love the Lord, and love children too. Our chapter is growing faster than what our staff and volunteers can keep up with. We are in need of volunteers in Newaygo, Lake, Oceana, and Mason Counties. Our staff is driving an hour one way to some of these clubs. Would you consider joining with us today to help reach children in your area with the Gospel? Training will be provided!

Teen Outing
One thing that I am very thankful for is that the teens in our chapter love to fellowship with each other, and are always wanting to spend time together. On October 5, we had a teen outing at Fremont Park doing disc golfing. Because a lot of our teens are not big disc golfers, we decided to split up into teams and do a scramble. We were very thankful we did that. Only three of our teens were able to come but we did have some guests that came to spend some time with us. After we had finished about ten holes of disc golfing, we all went out together to enjoy some pizza at the Pizza Hut in Fremont. This was such an enjoyable time and we have more activities planned for our teens in the months to come.
We are sending out a special invitation to any teens who would like to join us in our activities. They do not have to be or have been a summer missionary to join in with us. If this is something that you think a teen you know might be interested in, please contact us and we will give them information each month concerning our upcoming activities. Right now, we have a Thanksgiving party scheduled for November 9th and we have a Christmas party planned for December that they will be invited to. There’s also a Statewide teen event that CEF puts on in January. If you would like information on any of these activities, please contact our office.
