Director’s Address

Spring has finally made it to Northwest Michigan. The sun has been shining, and the weather has been getting warmer. The flowers are starting to come up, and leaves are starting to grow on the trees. Summer is not far off now.

We are praising the Lord for what He has done in our Good News Clubs this past school year. Our last two clubs have ended, and both ended strong. Our West Golden club had one new child this month, and at our Hart club, on the last day, there were three salvations. Praise the Lord!!!  We are so thankful for all our teachers and helpers that worked this past year in our clubs. We pray that they will all come back in September, and that we will have new people that want to get involved in the clubs.

On April 20–21, Wendy and I, along with some committee members, went to a Blueprint training that was held at The Shack. This training gave us ideas on how to build our chapter in support and volunteers, and also informed us of some changes that are going to be happening. This was a statewide training, so we had the opportunity to see some coworkers and other committee members from around the state. There was a great time of fellowship. Richard Summerford, from the International Headquarters, was our keynote speaker. He gave us great information that we can use in our local area, and told us great stories of what the Lord has been doing in other areas. Overall, it was a great weekend.

I also had the opportunity to speak at Cornerstone Christian Academy. This was the second time that I had the opportunity to speak in the Chapel this school year. There were a total of 26 students there, and all seemed to enjoy the lesson. I hope to speak there again next school year.

Fairs and Festivals

If you are interested in being a part of our fair and festival ministry, we are offering training on May

12 and 19. At these trainings, you will be trained on fair ministry. At the fair, we need people to help with Bible lessons, face painting, and games. We are also offering a Wordless Book training on June 2.

For this training, we will be partnering with the Muskegon chapter.  If you want to come to one of these trainings, please contact our office and let us know which one you plan to come to, and we will let you know the location of the training.

We have two events coming up where we need volunteers. The first event is the

Horse Pull on May 25 in Fountain. This is a one-day event and we partner with Victory Baptist Church. Our second event is the Asparagus Festival in Hart on June 8–9. If you can help in either one of these events, please give us a call at the office.

We are very thankful for the memorial gift that we received in memory of Les and Lesota Munson They were long time supporters of the Shoreline chapter.

We were informed recently by some donors that they have to reduce or stop support. Pray that we will be able to replace the support that we have lost. We know we will be losing at least $400 a month.
