Director’s Address

10934977681151CDPOur staff has been work diligently to prepare for the summer ministries. We have made several contacts with individuals about hosting 5-Day Clubs®. Our goal is to have 15, 5-Day Clubs scheduled this summer. Praise God for the four clubs already scheduled!

One of the most exciting aspects of summer ministry is working at the fairs and festivals. During this ministry year we have participated in two fairs where 421 people heard the message of salvation. There are many people who have shown interest in helping at the fairs and festivals happening this summer. The staff and volunteers are looking forward to the other five scheduled for this summer. This will give us a total of seven fairs and festivals for the year. Please pray that we will be able to get connected with the right people to schedule more fairs and festivals. Our next festival is the Horse Pull in Fountain. Pray for God to open the hearts of the children and parents who will hear the message.

Shoreline’s annual banquet was a great success. The banquet was held at Mason County Reformed Church. Lisa Gayle did a wonderful job catering for our second year in a row. Brian Blount, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, performed the special music that touched many people. There was a special remembrance of Brenda Kroll for her time with CEF and her ministry with children. There were 87 people that attended the banquet, which was an increase of 27 from last year. We are already making plans for next year’s banquet.

Meet the Missionaries

missionariesRachel and Virginia are back from the Children’s Ministries Institute®, and have started working in the chapter. Both are still in need of support. Virginia still needs $1,100 more a month to work full time. Rachel still needs to raise $3,970 more to cover the expenses for her internship. Pray that the funds needed for these young ladies will come in.Continue to pray for Hailey and Madison Westerbeek, our summer missionaries. They are both excited to be teaching 5-Day Clubs in shoreline this summer. Madison needs to raise $200 to attend the Summer Missionary Assistant training. Hailey needs to raise $2,500 to attend Christian Youth In Action®, and to be a paid summer missionary.

5-Day Clubs

clubs1

You can reach the children in your neighborhood this summer by hosting a 5-Day Club®at your home! A 5-Day Club teaches the truths about Jesus Christ to kids in an exciting and interactive way. Each club meets for 90 minutes a day for five days. The Children will learn about Jesus through captivating Bible lessons, songs, memory verses, and missionary stories. Will you start praying now about hosting a 5-Day Club at your home?We would like to get a minimum of 15 clubs scheduled for the summer of 2016. At this time, we still need at least 11 more clubs to reach our goal. 5-Day Clubs are often held at homes, churches, day cares, and parks. Do you know of anyone who loves children and has a desire to see them know Christ who would be willing to host a 5-Day Club at one of these locations? Please contact the Shoreline CEF office if you or anyone you know may be willing to host a 5-Day Club.

Special Projects

Child Evangelism Fellowship® National Conference

Thank you to those who have given financially for Sean, Wendy, and Virginia to attend the
National Conference in May. Approximately $900 is still needed to cover the conference fees and travel expenses. Please pray that the rest will be provided and for safety while we travel.

laptopThe Laptop Project—

Shoreline CEF is in need of a new laptop computer for ministry use. This will be used for teacher training, church presentations and office use. To get a computer that will meet our needs, it will cost between $500-$700. Will you prayerfully consider giving to these special projects. If God has laid it on your heart today to give to either of these projects, you can designate the project on the memo line of your gift.

Fair and Festivals

fair-2On May 28th we will be at the Horse Pull in Fountain. Last year was the first time we were able to reach kids at this festival. Victory Baptist Church, partnered with CEF of Shoreline and we were able to share the gospel with over 70 children. This year, Victory Baptist will be doing new games for the children while shoreline workers will be doing Bible lessons and face panting. Pray that God will give us good weather so we can share the gospel with more children.

There are two new festivals that are currently being contacted to try to get into this year. The Apple Festival in Silver Lake, and the Trout a Rama Festival in Baldwin would be great locations for further outreach. Please pray for the contacts made with these festivals, so we have open doors to grow the festival ministry. To make these fairs and festivals a success, we need volunteers who are willing to come to hand out tickets, face paint, run games, and do gospel presentations. If this is something you can help us with, below are the festivals and dates.
