Director’s Address

During the month of February, we were able to start our 11th Good News Club®. We are really thankful that Hart Congregational Church allowed us to use their building for the club. The first week of club, they had eight children in attendance. This was very exciting because it has been some time since there was a club in Hart. By the end of the month, the enrollment was up to nine. The teacher is planning to continue the club through the month of April. The really exciting thing about the clubs this last month is that we saw five children come to know Christ as Savior. PRAISE THE LORD!!  All of our school clubs will be ending this month. We are very thankful that we were able to reach our goal not only with the number of clubs, but also with the enrollment of children in clubs. We are already planning for next school year, and praying that we will be able to have 12 clubs.

On February 8 we had another pie fellowship at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ludington. The attendance was very small, but the people there were very interested and excited to hear what the Lord has been doing in Shoreline. Two of our Good News Club teachers that teach the clubs in Scottville gave testimony of their clubs. Donna Clousing and her husband have been teaching the Scottville Upper Elementary club for many years. They are now moving to Iowa, so we honored them for their years of service. They will be missed. The main part of our program was centered on our summer ministry. We are praying that the people that came will want to get more involved this summer.

The Lord gave us several opportunities to speak at churches throughout the month of February. He also gave me the opportunity to speak in a chapel at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Fremont.  There were 23 students, from kindergarten to eighth grade. I encouraged the children to get involved with the lesson by looking up verses in their Bibles, and most of them did.  I did one of my favorite lessons “Heaven and How to Get There”. I encouraged the children who knew Christ as Savior to witness to others. At the end, we did have one little boy come for counseling to receive Christ as Savior. It is always exciting to lead a child to Christ.

5-Day Club® is a unique and effective way reach the children and families in your community. For an hour and a half each day (Monday through Friday) children gather to play high energy games, hear exciting Bible lessons and a missionary story, and sing upbeat songs that teach unforgettable truths!
Last year, in the shoreline chapter, we had a total of 17 clubs, 275 children enrolled, and 15 receive Christ as Savior. This year, we are hoping to have 18 clubs.  We are happy to say that we already have one club scheduled for the summer.
