We are thankful for the opportunity to have had two virtual clubs the past month and a half. We were able to keep in contact with some of our clubbers and we were also able to have new clubbers join. Our Good News Club^® season has ended for this ministry year, and we are so thankful for what the Lord has done. The Lord helped us reach our goal of 12 clubs and we saw 17 children come to know Christ as Savior, which was almost twice as many as last year. I want to thank all our teachers and helpers that faithfully went every week to teach the children.

Clubs will start again in late September or early October. We are hoping to be able to be back teaching in person at schools, and anywhere we can teach clubs. There will be an option to have virtual clubs as well. We plan to have virtual clubs on snow days and we are going to encourage our other teachers to do the same. Our goal for next Good News Club season is to have 13 clubs. Pray that the Lord will help us reach this goal.

 

Summer Missionaries

Later this month, our Christian Youth in Action (CYIA™) will be starting. Because of COVID-19, we will not be having a statewide CYIA in Grand Rapids, instead, all chapters will be doing their own. Our CYIA will be held at Newman Christian Community Church. We are so thankful that they are willing to open their building for us to do this great training. We will be camping out on the church property during the training. Because of the support that has come in for the teens, we have been able to get supplies to help make this a great and fun time.

       Summer Ministries

We are still looking for people who have children in their area that need to be reached. Now that

we are able to have large group meetings outside, we are still planning and hoping to have traditional 5-Day Clubs. We will also have the option for virtual clubs. If you do not feel comfortable having a traditional club, we can do a virtual club through Zoom for you. You can send us the email addresses of all the children that you would like to invite to the club, and we will send them a link to the club. These clubs will only be 40 minutes long instead of an hour and a half. This is another way that you can help us reach the children for Christ.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us in our fair and festival ministry. If you have an hour or a day that you can come out and help us this summer, please let us know. At this point, the ones listed below are still on. Pray that they will not be cancelled.

Trainings

This fall, we plan to have one or two trainings. Teaching Children Effectively™ is a college-level course we offer through our Children’s Ministries Institute^®, and is a 33-hour course. Because of being a college course, there is a cost and will meet once or twice a week for a number of weeks. Another training we offer is Good News Club Quick Start training. This can be done in person with videos or online, or in one day or more days. If you have any questions about any of the trainings, please contact our office.
