Director’s Address

Summer is here and we are excited about what the Lord is going to do.  We are praying and asking the Lord to use us to reach many boys and girls through the summer.

At the beginning of May, Wendy and I took some time off to go meet our new granddaughter. This was a very enjoyable time to spend with our daughter and son-in-law, and most importantly with Skylar. We were able to get lots of rest and see some of the attractions with them. We also took the opportunity to see one of my aunts in Georgia before coming home. It was very fun and refreshing.

While we were gone, Virginia was able to get our first 5-Day Club® of the season started. This club met weekly for four weeks. We partnered with Love INC. which is another ministry in the area. While they were teaching adults, we did a club for the children. We had a total of six children enrolled. It was very exciting to get our first club behind us and looking forward to the clubs ahead of us.

Several times throughout this school year, I have had the opportunity to speak in chapel at Oceana Christian. I had that opportunity once again. I was able to speak to 63 students during the chapel time. All the students seemed to enjoy the lesson.

Memorial Day weekend was a big time of ministry. On Saturday, we went to the Horse Pull in Fountain to partner with Victory Baptist Church. We did the Bible lessons and face painting while the church did games for the children. We had beautiful weather for the day, and had the opportunity to share the Gospel with 58 people. We plan to do this again next year. The other weekend ministry was at Lake Community Bible Church. Each year, we go there to do a party club for their children. This year, we had four children that attended our party club. All seemed to enjoy our time with them. Afterwards, we had a picnic with the church. Overall, it was a great weekend of ministry.

Asparagus Festival

Once again, it’s time for the National Asparagus Festival, and we will have a part in reaching boys and girls that attend. Last year, we had about 100 people come to hear the Gospel, and we hope that we have more this year. Please be praying for us as we will be at the festival June 8-9. Pray for good weather and that children will come.

We would like to give a special thank you to Elbridge Community Church for giving over 600 toys for us to use in our ministries this summer. This is a big help and encouragement to us.

On June 2, we partnered with the Grand Valley chapter and the Muskegon chapter to have a pretraining for our summer missionaries. Between the three chapters, we had a total of 13 teens that attended, and most of them will be attending our Christian Youth in Action program June 20-29. We are so thankful for these teens and we pray that God will use them greatly this summer.
