I hope all of you had a Happy New Year. The new year brings new opportunities for ministry. I am really excited to see what the Lord is going to do in CEF of Shoreline in 2022.

Clubs—8

Enrolled—114

Salvation—4

December is always a shorter month because of Christmas break, but we still saw the Lord work. During December, a new club started in Mason Co Lower Elementary School. This is now the fifth club in the schools. PRAISE THE LORD!! The club started very small, but ended with seven children attending before Christmas break. It was very exciting to be back into another school. Two of the other clubs that have been going had an increase in attendance. There were a total of 12 new children who started attending the clubs in December. All are going to be resuming this month. Pray that all the children will come back.

There are still clubs in the works to start in Fremont, Grant, Brohman, and Baldwin. We are hoping to get at least one of them started this month. Please be in prayer for these areas.

Christmas Party Club

On December 3, we had another Party Club at the Ladder in Shelby. The theme was “God Keeps His Promise.” This time instead of having it on a Saturday afternoon, we did it on a Friday evening. Because of the change, we were not sure what this would bring. When it was time to start there were a total of ten children there, most of them different children from last time. What was really awesome is that seven parents stayed for the Party Club. Sean led a game with a snowball fight which was boys against the girls. The boys won all the games. Charlotte Thomas, one of our summer missionaries, came to help with the program. Wendy did an awesome Christmas lesson. All were listening very well. There were a couple of children that raised their hands, but did not come for counseling. The Ladder staff provided cake and ice cream, which the children really enjoyed. In January, we are planning to have a Fish Party.

Remember, if you have not already done so, to mark your calendar for March 5, 2022 for the Shoreline Banquet. The cost of the tickets will be $15 per person to cover the meal. You can start receiving tickets by calling the Shoreline office. Hope you can come.

I know that it is January, and that there is still snow on the ground, but we are starting to plan for summer. Last summer, we had ten clubs through the Shoreline chapter, 119 children attended, and eight prayed to receive Christ. We had one more club than we did in 2020, with 22 more children attending. We had a great group of teens who taught these clubs. We are praying for more in 2022. Our goal is to have 18 clubs this summer. Right now we already have one club scheduled. Start praying with us right now for our summer. Also, pray as to how you can help us this summer.

On December 28, we had a statewide teen event called Faith in Action Fest. This was something new we did in place of The Return which we had for many years. What we did that was different than in years past is that we had a concert along with our social gathering. The Christian band Kleen Slate, led by Jake Brown, former summer missionary, performed first. Then RJ Scott, Christian rapper and former summer missionary, performed second. It finished off with Christian rapper George Moss. All did very well and the teens enjoyed them. After the concert we had pizza, played games, and enjoyed fellowshipping together. A total of 40 people came, 11 from the Shoreline. It was also the kick off for recruiting for our Christian Youth in Action® training. There are plans to have more events like this in the future.

Planning for CYIA™ 2022 has been in the works, and now we are just six short months away. Last year, we had six teens from Shoreline attend CYIA. As of right now, four of them are planning to attend this year to work with us this summer. Also, there are three others that are showing interest. There is always room for more. Be praying with us as we travel, speaking in churches, that the Lord will bring us to teens that want to serve the Lord by working with us this summer.

Training

We hope to have another Teaching Children Effectively (TCE) Level 1 class this winter. The plan is to have it start in March. Dates and times will be advertised soon. We need to have at least four people sign up in order to hold the course.
