Director’s Address

10934977681151CDPIt is hard to believe that we are at the beginning of another year. In 2016, we saw the Lord do many great things in Shoreline, and we are looking forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do in 2017. We did see a lot of children hear the Gospel and come to know Christ as Savior last year, but we are praying that this year we will see even more. December is always is a busy month with Christmas shopping, and getting together with family and friends. It was also a very busy month for ministry. We had two of our Good News Clubs show an increase in enrollment, and we had one child come to know Christ as Savior. Also, during the month, we had Christmas Across Americasm party clubs. The theme this year was “The Backwards Birthday Bash”. We were able to have these clubs in schools, churches, and homes. This year, we were able to have eight of these party clubs, with a total of 78 kids. Praise the Lord for the attendance! Wendy and I had the opportunity to teach one at New Era Bible Church. At that club, we had a total of 13 children.  This month, we are hoping to add our tenth Good News Club® of the school year. When we do that, we will reach our goal for this school year. Pray that this club will have a good start. We will also be doing a church training, and a Teaching Children Effectively™ course (TCE™). The church training will be at First Baptist of Fremont, and this will be a one-day training for their children’s workers. This is the first time that we have been able to do a training like this since coming to this chapter. Our TCE class will also be at First Baptist of Fremont, and it will last three weeks. We are excited that two of the students are already helping in Good News Clubs, and we’re hoping this course will help them to get more involved in ministry. Pray that both of these trainings go well. Director’s

 Good News Clubs

Good-News-ClubClubs—9

Enrollment—142
Salvations—7

We are so excited that we have had an increase in enrollment since September, and we are especially excited to see the seven salvation decisions. We will be adding our tenth club this month, and maybe more in the future. We are still in need of help so we can reach into more schools and neighborhoods. If you are interested in helping reach more boys and girls with the gospel, please contact our office. If there is a school that you would
like to see a Good News Club get started in, call our office and let us know.

The Return

We had our annual Return at Maranatha Baptist Church in Lansing. This is where all our summer missionaries—past, present, and future—get together for some fun, fellowship and food. This year, we had 52 people from around the state come to this event. It was really exciting to see our summer missionaries from the past, and last summer. There were also some new teens there that were getting information about our training. Several of the teens told me that they were planning on coming back for another year of summer ministry. We had a time for the teens to share about what God has been doing in their lives since training. This is my favorite time of the event because it is exciting to hear what our teens have been doing with the training they received.

Teacher Training

Our Good News Club teacher’s fellowship will resume January 16 at 1 p.m. at the Shoreline office. If you are one of our Good News Club teachers, helpers, or are interested in finding out more about our Good News Clubs and how you can get involved, you are invited to come. This is a time where we can all fellowship together and get ideas from each other to use in our clubs.

Banquet

Mark your calendars and plan to attend our annual banquet on April 8. This year, we are going to have the banquet on a Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Be watching in future newsletters for where this event will be held. We are planning, once again, to have a program for the children. Come and join us for a good time of food and fellowship, and hear what the Lord has done in Shoreline.

Pie Fellowships

This year, we are going to have two pie fellowships. They are going to be held on January 19 at First Baptist of Hart, and February 16 at Aetna Calvary Church in White Cloud. If you live in Oceana or Mason Counties, we recommend that you attend the fellowship in Hart. If you live in Lake or Newago Counties, we recommend the fellowship at Aetna Calvary. All the details are listed on the flyer on the back of this newsletter. Please plan to attend one of these fellowships

International Conference

We are already planning for the Child Evangelism Fellowship® International Conference in May. At this conference we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of CEF®. CEF workers from all over the world will be coming for this time of refreshing and celebration. This event will be held at Ridgecrest Conference Center in North Carolina. We would like the Shoreline staff to attend. In order to do so, we need to raise $2,500 to cover conference fees, room and board, and travel expenses.  We currently have $1,082 that has been given, that leaves $1,418 more to raise.  If you want to help give to this project, make your check payable to CEF and put “conference” on the memo line.
