Another Good News Club season is coming to an end. We are so thankful for the great year that God has given us with seeing children coming to know Christ. All the Good News Clubs that started in September or October have now ended. We are very thankful for these clubs and the impact they had on the children in their areas. There is still one club that will continue through the end of April. This is a very small club that meets at the New Era Reformed Church through the partner ministry of Love Inc. There will be another Good News Club that will start on April 10th. This club will go for 5 weeks and it will be at the Mason County East Elementary School. This is a huge answer to prayer. We’ve been praying for a long time about trying to get a club started in this school district, and we are very thankful that one of our Good News Club teachers had the same burden. When this club starts, we will have a Good News Club going in every school district in Mason County. We are hoping that this will lead into having a Good News Club for a full year next school year. In order for that to happen, we will need more volunteers to join us to teach this club. Please be praying with us as we look for more people willing to join us to be trained to teach Good News Clubs so we can have more clubs and reach more children.
Church Ministries Conference
On March 7th and 8th, we had the great opportunity to be a part of the Church Ministries Conference at Calvary Baptist Church in Grand rapids. This is the second year that we’ve had the opportunity to be a part of this great conference. We partnered with the Grand Valley chapter to have a display table there at the conference. There were General sessions throughout the day plus some breakout sessions that different people taught. There were also several other ministries that had displays there as well to promote their ministries. A lot of them were camps from all over Michigan. Several people stopped at our booth and we were able to make some contacts with several different churches from the Shoreline chapter that had people there. One of them was a new church that we had never been to before that showed some interest in training. Overall, it was a great event and we plan to be there again next year.
According to the calendar, spring starts March 20th. That means that summer is almost here and we are getting so excited about our 5-Day Club® Ministries. Our goal this summer is to have 18 clubs. UP Trip
On March 1st, three of our teens from Shoreline joined with some teens from the Grand Valley chapter to go to the Sault Ste Marie chapter to help in a Family Fun fest that was held at Lake Superior State University. This is a one-day event that is totally put on by Child Evangelism Fellowship. The Sault Ste. Marie chapter has been doing this event for about 17 years now. This is something that I have been thinking and praying about trying to bring to the Shoreline chapter. Because this was put on by CEF, everything was completely free. The only thing the children had to do before entering the event was to hear a Wordless Book presentation. There were four different stations set up where our teens were giving the Wordless Book presentation. After that, they were able to go in to play as many games as they wanted during the time. At each game, the children were able to earn tickets that they could turn in for prizes that were donated for this event. There were also some supporting churches that had booths promoting their Vacation Bible Schools or their Wednesday night programs. One church even had a drawing for door prizes that they provided. There were some bounce houses that were provided by the university. At the end, a local pastor gave a brief gospel presentation to all the people that came, and there was a drawing for more door prizes that were donated to this event. Our teens also helped with some of the games and face painting. It was really exciting to see how well our teens got in there and helped out with this event and worked with the other teens from Grand Valley. There were a total of 815 people that came to this event. Overall, it was an awesome experience.
As I said earlier, this is something that I have been studying a lot and would like to be able to one day bring to Shoreline. Please be praying with me about this event because it would take a lot of work and a lot of volunteers to be able to do. Also, that I may be able to find a place big enough to have an event like this.
Mark your calendars for September 23rd for our Soup and Chili Fellowship at Rothbury Community Church. Come join us for some great soup and chili and hear what the Lord has been doing in the Shoreline Chapter. This event will be free to attend. There will be a love offering taken that night that will go to help with the ministries of Shoreline CEF.
Very soon, Tamra will be completing her first year at Bob Jones University and will be coming home to serve with us as our summer intern. We are so looking forward to her working with us this summer. She has been raising support so we will be able to cover her summer expenses. As of right now, she has raised $1,525. This is 17% of what she needs to cover her summer expenses. Pray with us as she raises the rest of her funds. Be praying to see how God wants you to help Tamra work with us in Shoreline this summer.
If you would like to help Tamra, please send a check to the office with” intern” on the memo line. You can use the QR codes for PayPal and Zeffy with this article. If you use PayPal, please put “intern” on the memo.
Word from Tamra
Bob Jones University has taught me many things and I feel as though I have learned a lot. Although I greatly enjoyed my first year and all it entailed including evangelizing the community of Greenville, enjoying extra curricular activities and listening to impactful lectures, I am very ready to be back home with my family, Church and CEF. I am praying for all the work that will be done for God this summer. I am excited at the thought of helping Shoreline CEF through this internship and I am also humbled when I think of what an opportunity it is to be an intern. Something I have been learning here that has helped me prepare for this summer internship is the idea that God has a season for all things. At BJU chapel, we have been going through Ecclesiastes which talks about just that. I am looking forward to this new season God has given me and I hope to take advantage of all it holds. Your prayers and support are so encouraging, it reminds me that it takes many people to further the kingdom of God and I am so thankful for brothers and sisters who come alongside the ministry of CEF. I am looking forward to joining you all again soon this summer.
Only two more weeks until I leave Children’s Ministries Institute®! This is both sad and exciting. I have made so many close friendships here. The group of students have become such a community, especially among those who have been here the entire time. Beyond that, I have grown really close with Britnell and Elise, a couple of the girls here. We are the only girls that have been here for most of the courses. I thank God so much for bringing us all here at the same time. We have been able to be there for each other to help with homework, and life. I am going to miss them and the others so much when we all head home. Elise is from Nebraska and Britnell is from the Bahamas. As a result, we won’t be able to see each other often at all. However, we will all be able to see one another again at the Child Evangelism Fellowship International Conference in May. This does make it a little easier to leave.
I am also so excited to be heading home soon! I miss everyone so much! I’m looking forward to going back to my house, family, friends, and church. It will be so nice to see my nephews and nieces too! I have really missed all of them. In addition I am very excited to be able to go home and practically use what I have learned here. The full course has included lots of different kinds of classes. They encompassed everything from teaching children, to teaching adults, to learning how to start CEF® ministries in my chapter. Throughout these classes, I have been writing down ideas that I would like to implement once I return home. Please pray that God will give me wisdom as I head home and strive to do well with the ministry He has given me.

We are planning to have a Teaching Children Effectively™ Level 1 course in the fall. This is a 33-credit hour college level course. The cost is $125. Through this course, you will learn how to evangelize using the Wordless Book, prepare Evangelistic Bible lessons, teach memory verses applying them to the lives of the saved and unsaved children, and much more. If you are new to teaching and want to learn what to do, or have been teaching forever, this course is for you. Dates, times, and location will be announced in a future newsletter along with a registration form
The planning for Christian Youth in Action™ (CYIA™) 2025 is coming together. On March 14th, we went to the Springs Ministries, where we will be having CYIA™ t0 have a meeting with the leadership and to take a second look at the facilities. We were able to have a very good meeting with the leadership of the camp giving them more information about how we will be working. We also met with the activities director of the camp to compare our schedule with the camp schedule to see how it worked together so our students could do some of the activities around the camp. Overall, it was a very good meeting and a lot was accomplished. We plan to have another meeting at the Springs Ministries in May. At this point, we have 13 teens that have signed up for CYIA. Our goal is to have 50 students coming to training. There’s still time for teens to sign up. If you know of a teen that might be interested, please check out the information about CYIA.
The three teens from our chapter are currently working on their pre-training assignments. So far, one has got her assignments completely done and handed in. The others are diligently working on getting them completed. Be praying for them as they do their preparation and as they are getting ready for the training. They have also been busy raising support for their summer ministries. At this point, the girls have raised $4,175. This is 35% of what they need to cover all their expenses for the entire summer. We know that there is more support coming in for them. So pray that the support will soon come in so we have their entire summer covered.
If you would like to help these girls with support please send a check to the office with Summer Ministries on the memo line. You can use the PayPal QR code or the Zeffy code with this article. If you use PayPal please put Summer Ministries on the memo line.

Family AfFAIR
On March 15th, we went to the Family AfFAIR in Scottville that was held at Mason County Central High School. This is a one-day Fair that is put on by the local Chamber of Commerce where other businesses and organizations have things for the kids to do at the fair. This year, we shared a room with another organization that had other hands-on activities. We had a craft and some puzzles to do with the children. One of our volunteers who teaches one of the Good News Clubs came to do some gospel presentations when she had a chance. Two more of our Good News Club teachers came as well to help with greeting the children that came into the room and helping them do some crafts. Two of our summer missionaries also came to help out. During the time we were able to give or share the gospel with 300 people that came through our room. This is 25 more people than last year. We were also able to see several students from our Scottville and Ludington clubs also come through our room. It was very exciting to see the students. Overall it was an exciting and fun day.
In just over a month, we will be on our way to Ridgecrest Conference Center for the CEF International Conference. We have all been looking forward to this great event that happens every couple years where co-workers from around the world come together to fellowship and give encouragement to each other. We also get to hear exciting reports of what the Lord is doing in the lives of children in different parts of the world. We are so excited that the Lord has provided the funds needed for our registration and room and board at the conference. We are still raising funds to cover the travel expenses that we need to raise to get there. We only need to raise $1,184 more to have all our travel expenses completely covered. Pray for us as we are working out our traveling, because our staff will be heading to the conference at different times. Sean and Wendy are going to be leaving earlier because they plan on taking a couple days to go visit their granddaughters in South Carolina before the conference. Lizzie Kate and Tamra will be leaving at a later time to travel with one of our coworkers Anna Sysma from Grand Valley. Because Anna, Sean and Wendy are going to be serving as guides at the conference, all of our staff needs to be there a day before everyone else. We are looking at and working on several different ways to get our three young ladies to the conference either by flying down and then riding back with Sean and Wendy or Anna driving her personal vehicle. Pray that we can find the right transportation.
If you would like to help with the remainder of the travel expenses you can send a check to the CEF office with “conference” on the memo line. you can use QR codes for PayPal or Zeffy with this article. If you use PayPal, please put “conference” on the memo.
